LOOK AT ME

The Extended Practice Project (EPP), which I worked on with the utmost care, was a personal project that I had been working on for almost 10 weeks. I intensively researched and realized the skills accumulated from level 4. I focused on the ‘habit’ of biting nails that I did at the Untold Tale. I made a storybook for working parents more narratively. In this book, I encouraged them to reflect on whether they were paying enough attention to their children and, if not, hope to reflect and become better parents. In order to make the details of the character composition and story, I spent a lot of time with some only-daughters with dual-income parents interviewing and drawing, and role-playing together to explore in depth what they like and dislike and what their wishes are. Further, a more systematic character composition was made in consideration of their parent's occupation and age.

Since this project consists of an interim review and a final review, I should have been able to be punctual and present all the processes I am working on. This became a motivation for me to improve my time management and how to deliver my message effectively to the audience. During the feedback, I was told that the character looked a little creepy and scared, so I added eyebrows and highlights of eyes to give more variety of facial expressions and vitality. Additionally, right before the book printing production, I received feedback from the audience that they cannot focus on the text, so I set my own rules and put the text at the bottom of the left page so that they can write and see the illustration altogether.
